History

The Mat-124 refined everything Yashica had learned over a decade of TLR production. Named for its ability to shoot 12 exposures on 120 film or 24 on 220 film, it featured a CdS meter and improved Yashinon optics that could hold their own against far more expensive cameras.

Innovations

  • CdS metering
  • 120/220 switching
  • Improved Yashinon optics

Collector Notes

Predecessor to the more refined 124G. Still excellent quality.
