History

The Rolleiflex T offered the build quality and Zeiss Tessar optics of its more expensive siblings at a more accessible price. The T uses knob wind rather than crank advance, which some photographers actually prefer for its simplicity and reliability.

Notable Photographers

Popular with photographers who wanted Rolleiflex quality without the F-series price.

Cultural Significance

The grey version is particularly collectible.

Innovations

  • Budget Rolleiflex option
  • Tessar 4-element design
